After use rinse in fresh water. Allow to air dry. Machine wash at 30° C. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Do not iron. Do not dry clean. XP-4 layer Fabric is Palm’s toughest, most waterproof fabric. Warm moisture vapour inside your jacket is able to pass through the barrier of the microporous coating and the extra hydrophilic layer ‘sucks’ moisture from inside your jacket to the outside. Inside, the soft, absorbent mesh liner helps by dispersing moisture across a greater area of membrane. Durable water repellents PFCs, PFAS, PFOS and PFOAs are acronyms which all refer to polyflourinated chemicals. In the apparel industry these have been commonly used to make the water repellent finishes and waterproof membranes which provide protection. These ‘forever chemicals’ can have a harmful effect on the environment and human health, and legislation is now being prepared to remove them from use. Palm have been progressively reducing their use of polyflourinated chemicals – initially using shorter chain repellant finishes which break down more rapidly, and now applying PFC-free finishes and membranes to many of their XP fabrics. Palm are committed to removing PFAS from their products and already 88% of their (2024) supply chain is PFC-free. Palm are working with our suppliers to further reduce PFAS content wherever possible.
